New Staff
- In January 2007, a Pharmacist Intern Paul Njaria Magutu was posted to the NQCL by the MoH on successful completion of his internship.
- In February 2007, John Ngugi a diploma holder in analytical chemistry was engaged on contract by the Laboratory to work as a pharmaceutical technician.
- In July 2007, Jane Matundura a degree holder in Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Chemistry was engaged on contract by the Laboratory to work as a pharmaceutical technician.
Staff Transfers
- In March 2007, 2 new Pharmacists, reported to work at the NQCL having been transferred by the MoH from their previous posts: Dr. Emmaneul Tanui and Dr. Matthew Kwena Hope.
- In October 2007, a Pharmacist Intern Dr. Stephanie Kiongo reported to work at the NQCL having been transferred by the MoH. Pharmaceutical Technologist – Ms. Eunice Shankil also reported to work at the NQCL having been transferred from her previous MoH station.
- In November 2007, a Deputy Chief pharmacist Dr. Pius Wanjala having been transferred by the MoH from his previous post.
- Staff Departures and Resignations
- 2 pharmacists Dr. Aaron Mutai and Dr. Maureen Gikundi were transferred to other MoH stations to fill a service need in October 2007. A Senior Pharmaceutical Technologist – Mr. Patrick Kibiego was also transferred to another MoH station also to fill a service need.
- Dr. Lucy Jemutai Tirop a Pharmacist left the Laboratory to take up a new job at the School of Pharmacy, University of Nairobi in September 2007.
- John Ngugi, officially left the NQCL to start his new job at Kenyatta University in August 2007 after having worked at the Laboratory with great dedication and diligence since the beginning of the year.
Study Leave
- Throughout 2007, Dr. Seline Busolo remained away from the Laboratory pursuing a Masters Degree in Public Health at Loma Linda University, California, USA for which she had been granted 2 year study leave.
- In September 2007, Senior Pharmacist Dr. Nicholas Mwaura the acting Deputy Director was granted a 2 year study leave and proceeded to the School of Pharmacy University of Nairobi to pursue a Masters Degree. Pharmacist Dr. Emily Siminyu was also granted a 2 year study leave and proceeded to the School of Pharmacy University of Nairobi to pursue a Masters Degree.
